The World – The Best Address on Earth
The World, the largest privately owned residential yacht on earth with 165 luxury private residences, is pleased to be returning to Belfast this morning after its last visit in August 2002 during the Ship’s inaugural year.
This impressive 644-foot luxury Ship embodies a distinctive, one-of-a-kind lifestyle of exclusive luxury travel where its Residents explore every corner of the globe, experience myriad different cultures and gain privileged access to the planet’s most beautiful destinations, all from the comfort of their own home. Having sailed to all seven continents (some numerous times), and countless remote islands in between, the Ship will visit more than 30 countries in 2013 taking in its second visit to the island of Ireland in three years.
The World will arrive into the Port of Belfast at 10:30am this morning (Wednesday 3rd July) for a 10 day visit until 13th July. The visit has been in planning for over 12 months by specialist Irish hospitality and event company, Corporate.ie, which has devised a spectacular line up of Ireland’s world famous historical and cultural attractions for the diverse group of Residents. The Ship will arrive at the following Ports during its stay:
• Belfast 3rd – 5th July 2013 – 10-30am, Pollock Dock
• Derry – Londonderry 6th & 7th July 2013 – 9am
• Galway 8th & 9th July 2013 – 1pm
• Dublin 11th – 13th 2013 – 11am (docked beside the East Link roundabout)
The Residents, from 19 countries, look forward to receiving the friendly Belfast welcome that has remained with them since 2002 before moving on to Derry-Londonderry, then Galway and finally Dublin. Guaranteeing Residents a unique taste of the very best that Ireland has to offer is local hospitality and event specialists Corporate.ie, who last week were awarded Event Management Company of the Year at the Irish Event Industry Awards. Since managing the Ship’s last visit to Ireland in 2010, the company was reappointed to develop and operate a bespoke program of events for the 10 day visit. The Belfast trip will take in visits to the Titanic, Queens University, world heritage site The Giants Causeway, to name but a few.
Across Ireland, Residents will enjoy visits to The Ulster American Folk Park, Castle Coole, Kylemore Abbey, Cnoc Suain Galway, Old bridge House and The Royal Hospital Kilmainham and more.
The World’s trip to Ireland comes just three years after its last trip in 2010 where the Residents enjoyed a six-day visit to Dublin and Cork. Returning in such a short space of time proves to be a great show of confidence for Ireland and its ability to continually entice the fastest growing tourism sector in the world, Cruise Tourism.
Highlights of this year’s journey around the globe include a recent expedition to Russia’s White Sea complete with several polar bear sightings, an incredible voyage through Norway’s breathtaking fjords and hike to the massive Pulpit Rock in the district of Ryfylke, a cliff most likely formed with the melting glaciers over 10,000 year ago and exploring the beauty of Casablanca and the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world.
